EIT Digital Pitch

The world is changing. I'm in my thirties and I think I'm part of a generation that realized that something has to change.

My father work in a small supermarket from a big retailer in a nice town in Normandy. I have watched him throw away dozens and dozens kilos of food everyday! Did you know that 40% of the food produced worldwide is wasted?

What if AI and some well thought algorithm could help us tackle one of the biggest challenges of our generation? And what if it could at the same time help companies save trillions of dollars in the process ?

Optimizing inventories is becoming harder and harder. Shortages are hitting the news recently. Did you know that drug shortages have been multiplied by 6 in between 2014 and to 2020? At the same time, we have more inventories than ever before : they have been increased by 32% in the past 15 years...

Why? Because the world is getting more uncertain and volatile than ever before... Globalization has made it so than Supply Chains are way more complex than what they used to be. A Ford model T needed 1400 parts almost all sourced in the USA from a few suppliers. A modern car consists of 30 000 parts sourced from all other the world from thousands of suppliers.

I have been studying and working in supply chain my entire career and I can tell you companies have a huge supply chain issue. Traditional solutions have been built when the world was simpler : fewer products, fewer stakeholders, lower expectations, ... Classical way of sizing inventories and replenishments has been thought when the world was stable and certain.

Now, I have an excellent news. From Supply Chain theory and by using AI algorithms, we know we can built different solutions to really capture the complexity and uncertainty of our modern world.

Flowlity has been built for the new volatile reality. We are a SaaS solution that helps companies predict what they are going to sell, plan their productions and optimize inventories.

We collect data in real-time from their ERP and with our AI algorithms, we analyze it and predict risk of demand and supply so that they can keep the right amount of inventory at any time in their Supply Chain.

In 2 years, we have implemented our solution at 15 large manufacturers and retailers like Saint-Gobain, Bosch, La Redoute, Danone on top of their already existing SAP implementations. By using Flowlity, in average, our customers reduced inventories by 30% and shortages by 20%, saving millions of euros. And those results were achieved in a very volatile context during the Covid period.

But even more importantly, we also saw that Flowlity had non financial impacts for their companies:

Based on those very strong successes and testimonials, we are looking to grow even faster. We are very enthusiastic about the EIT Digital program that will help us raise 5M€ and accelerate our business in the DACH and Benelux regions.
