Karim and me met during the Kick-off day. We discussed briefly about our backgrounds and what we wanted to do. We both joined EF to build a massive company that would have a impact on the world. During week 1, I have been able to convince Karim that Supply Chain is so important in our modern economies. Improving those has a huge impact on many industries.
In particular, planning which inventory should be kept has been a big problem for some time, but nobody managed to solve it so far. It creates a lot of overstock and out-of-stocks that are costing globally trillions of dollars.
So, that is why we are building a network to connect supply chains together and automatically adjusts their stocks. If we succeed, first we will reduce wastes and environmental impact of mankind. There will be for example less products thrown away because of freshness dates or obsolescence, less unforeseen transportations. Two, money will be redirected from working capital, inventories staying idle at a warehouse, to a concrete usage such as price reduction or R&D spending. Three, customer satisfaction will increase. Decreasing stock-outs means that you will always have the product you need available.
We learned a lot about communication during EF. At the beginning, we delivered the same speech internally, with customers and with EF. It created confusion and frustration.
However, it did not block us from convincing 3 customers to plan a POC with us. This is our biggest achievement so far and a nice proof of adhesion to our vision.
Finally, I am very thankful to my cohort for all the help, support and cheerful moments we had together. The last 3 months have been a very pleasant experience thanks to all of you.
